New Calendar
Family fun night is fast approaching–May 7th from 5:30-8:30pm. This is an opportunity for Thurston volleyball to reach out to our community in a very fun environement. The kids get an opportunity to meet you and hear about our volleyball camps this summer. We get an opportunity to help out the Elementary school for a very important fundraiser.
Games: Treasure hunt, Duck Pond, Bowling, Going Fishing, Golf, Lollipop Tree, Wheel of Fortune, Falling Apple bean bag Toss, Plinko, Cookie Walk, Tattoo Parlor, Candy Bar, Soda ring Toss.
There are 13 games that we need to fill with 2 players each. The games are listed in the page I just posted. They are the same games we have done the last 2 years. We have done a fantastic job with this….contact directions have been texted to you….put it on your calendar.

Schedule
Thursday night open gyms have been cancelled for the next 3 weeks. The calendar reflects this change. Also, please note the May 7th TES family fun night fundraiser from 5:30-8:30. I also posted the dates for the willamette country music festival in August.
The calendar is currently set…however, the new coach may need to alter a few things to fit their schedule.

News update
As you all know, I have been offered an opportunity that I cannot turn down. I am in the final stages of negotiating a contract with Oregon Institute of Technology to coach their volleyball team. I have officially resigned my position as coach of Thurston Volleyball. The job is now currently open and posted on the Springfield school district website. I can assure you that this job is a very coveted position and I know of several highly qualified candidates who are in the process of applying.
I cannot express to you how grateful I am for having the opportunity to be your coach for the last 3 years. It has been an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I hope that I have had as positive an impact on you as an athlete and a person as you have had on me. Thank you for all the hard work, sacrifice, dedication, open mindedness to try new things, patience with a rookie coach, and having a good time playing a great sport. I would wish you all the best but it sounds too final….I wish we all stay in touch as we go forward. I believe I am more than a coach here at Thurston…I feel like I have established positive relationships. My number will not change, my email will be available–Call, text or email anytime. Stop in and visit me in Kfalls….I hope I will not have to miss you all.

Summer schedule
I have updated the calendar with summer camp weeks and times. Also included the start of Open gyms. I am attempting to get open gyms started in June….we’ll see. Basketball has a lot going on at that time.
More summer events like the Willamette Country Music Festival, scrimmages, clinics will be posted in the near future. Hope you are all having a great school year.
